Compound Cup

This sleek welding cup incorporates the best of both worlds when welding long passes. With the width of a #20 and the length of double that, you can count on maximum gas coverage. There is no gas wastage with this design, with a short distance between the tungsten and the front of the cup, as soon as the puddle forms, you're ready to move. This design has more gas coverage than a #32 but goes directly at the weld instead of the sides.

This cup is made out of billet aluminium and anodised black, making this one of the hottest cups on the market as well as being super light.

Go to the last picture to see the difference between a #20 and our compound cup on titanium! The settings and prep were identical, the results were not.

Why did we make this?

We are fabricators like you, we use the positioner as much as possible and we love gold! Adding an attachment onto an existing cup with an extra gas line is super uncomfortable and cumbersome. We sometimes have even forgotten to turn the secondary line on! It's a massive headache and in our experience, a waste of time and money, especially when using the silicone ones!

What are the benifits?

• Weld quality. The most important improvement when using this is the quality of the heat affected zone(HAZ) We all want gold welds!
• Gas save. When using a trailing cup of any kind, we have found that cups running 30-35CHF with a trailing cup using 10-15CFH, a combined use of 40-50CFH is massive. We only use 30CFH and you can see the results in the last picture.
• Super durable. This CNC billet aluminium cup is super durable, can handle heat extremely well and we have been using this for over a year with countless hours of testing and use. You can drop it without it breaking or deforming! This trailing style cup should be the first and last one you should ever need to buy.

We started this project in 2024 with a lot of revisions and modifications. We are super happy with the final product and are ready to start sending them out to only the serious fabricators.

Please note:Every welding plant is different, our advice comes from our own experience when working with the compound cup. Differences in plants, gas, tungstens, stick out, torch angle and even ventilation all has an effect on the welds outcome, you will need to adjust your setup to achieve the same results as the pictures provided.

For use on stainless steel, inconel and titanium only

Recommended for long passes on positioners/rotators only. Not recommended for tacking.
